he Architecture of JJ Pan & Partners is a comprehensive survey of the work of this Taiwan-based architecture firm over the last quarter-century. While J.J. Pan & Partners’ reputation stems primarily from the firm’s work in high-tech factory design, this volume explores the firm’s diversity by placing its hi-tech factory projects and industrial parks alongside its religious, educational, and cultural projects. Joshua Jih Pan outlines his unique approach and vision for architecture in Taiwan in a thoughtful and illuminating essay. This monograph includes an introductory essay by Gene King, as well as a foreword by American architecture critic, Anna Holtzman, who writes: “Through a steady practice, and without trying to call attention to himself, Pan has emerged as one of the preeminent architects of Taiwan, whose work is recognized around the world.” Pan’s work is illuminated in colorful drawings and renderings, beautiful color photography, and comprehensive project texts.
